98.9% is Not Enough

The two Work and Witness teams from South Arkansas District started from the ground, actually, way under the ground, to build the Jama, Ecuador church on the North Coast District.
One day the neighborhood store owner of where the team was buying drinks came to help lay blocks.  He said it was the neighborly thing to do and he attended the church service on Sunday.
Shirley, the missionary taught the songs to the children and to Genesis, one of the young 13 year old girls of the church, the first week and was so pleased to see Genesis show leadership and lead the music the second week.
The first week the team was reminded that God is always pursuing us and that was brought out in the testimony of one of the widowed mothers of four children from the church who said, "My life was going down a path of total destruction before the earthquake.  If it weren't for the earthquake I would not be a Christian today."
The second team was challenged; why do we only give 98% in our Christian lives when we give 100% in our jobs and other areas of our lives.  The team definitely gave 100% in working with the church people and each other in the rain and mud and then the hot sun.
The church was built with blocks but also built with great conversations and times of fellowship.
Praise God for the way He works and where he works in people's lives as he confirmed a call to ministry in one young lady's life.

This is the progress done after the team left.
