We Feel a Connection Like Family 8.7.18

A sense of family doesn't just automatically appear when 22 people from the same church decide to participate in a work project thousands of miles from home. The words of Pastora Myra Paredes summed up the special sense that marked the Work and Witness team from Lewiston, Idaho Church of the Nazarene, "We feel a connection like family with this group." The team shared a closeness that easily welcomed their Ecuadorian hosts over their week in Riobamba.

The major project for the team was putting the roof on the third floor of the Sierra Centro District Center in Riobamba. It was a major accomplishment to see the last sheet or roofing material put in place with a few hours left of the final work day. It would have been plenty to have gotten done but the team also managed to do children's ministry three days in the child development center that uses the District Center, remove a dump truck load of debris that had collected on the third floor during construction, and fix the driving gate that blew off it's hinges during the team's stay in the district center.

We are grateful for the work this team accomplished during their visit to Ecuador, and we thank God for the way the church was built through new relationships formed during their time in Ecuador.
