Dear Friends and Family,
We come to the end of what has been a huge year of transition. One thing that has not changed is that Jesus came and transformed this world forever. Isaiah said, “And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Jesus is that and so much more and we are eternally grateful for all that He has done in our lives!
In May we finished our final year of furlough and speaking in churches across the USA. We also finished our Global Missionary service of 35 years in Ecuador and the North Andean Field of South America. What a difference to return to live in these United States! There have been major changes of which we were only partially aware. We also miss all our friends and coworkers from over half our lives.
God has been faithful and generous to us, and for the first time in our married lives, we have our own home in Olathe, KS. We have moved our church membership to Kansas City First Church where Dwight was baptized at the age of 15 and received his missions call.
It is nice to live close to Bryan and Stefanie and their families. Our four grandchildren are a constant source of joy and laughter. When they all come to visit, 4-year olds, Charles and Brooks, spend their time chasing each other through our home while 1 ½-year-old Henry trails behind them. Carolyn has had a lot of opportunities to take care of Halston, our 4-month-old granddaughter so that Jennifer could return to work.
Since the first week of November, we have been serving as interim pastors of the Summit View Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, MO. Carolyn has had occasional part-time work as well.
Dwight’s father, Harry Rich is spending a couple of weeks with us through Christmas and Dwight’s sister, Sharon will also be here for Christmas. Then we will travel to Carolyn’s mother’s home and spend a few days with Carolyn’s brothers and their families.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
