Missionaries serving in Colombia

Rev. Junior and Rev. Jacilene Rodrigues serve along with their two daughters, Hadassa and Ágatha. Both Junior and Jacilene graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Brazil with a Batchelor’s in Theology and later earned a specialization in missions.

“We are Brazilians and we feel a call from God to serve in missions. We have served in Argentina since 2013 where we have pastored a church in the City of Formosa, planted another church in Córdoba, and have coordinated the planting of 4 more churches in Ecuador; Venezuela; Salta, Argentina; and also Anápoles, Brazil. Throughout this process, we have had the privilege of meeting, training, sending, and mentoring pastoral families and young people, Americans, and Argentineans, as they fulfill the Great Commission.”

They are currently assigned as missionaries of the Church of the Nazarene in Barranquilla, Colombia with the goal of planting a new church, developing a new district, coordinating the mobilization of missionary candidates into missionary service, providing training, and sending them out to plant new churches in the North Andean Field which is comprised of 3 countries: Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela.

Ashley Hoffner went to Trevecca Nazarene University and received her Bachelor’s in Social Work. From 2015-2019 she served as a Nazarene missionary in Argentina, helping plant a church as a part of team and later going on to working in the administration and finance of church plants in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, and Venezuela.

“Over the years, I have really seen how God has developed and grown areas in me I never knew I had. I not only have experience disciplining and evangelizing in areas that are unreached of Jesús’ gospel, God has also equipped me to work in administration, which is important in mission work. I have a passion for encouraging those that have a missionary call to seek where God is leading them. In the local church, I enjoy working with children and youth ministries, connecting with people through different sports such as frisbee, and being a part of the worship ministry.”

Ashley is currently assigned as a missionary and working along with the Rodrigues family in Barranquilla, Colombia with the goals of planting a new church, developing a new district, and administrating in the sending of South American missionary candidates into missionary service throughout the world. Please pray with her as she continually manages her time to serve in all these areas.
