New Church Plant Builds Their Church

These days we hear the word, "normal" when nothing is truly  "normal" or like it used to be.  So it is good to see the Cumandá, Ecuador church moving forward and doing their own construction to provide a place to worship that is not anything like a "normal" church building but, it is what they need for outside worship.

A lady from the Cumandá mother church had some extra property where she lived and invited pastor Maykol and the church people to build a small church for a group of 25 children and adults to have a protected place to worship.  The church plant is10 minutes away in Cascajal and has been meeting for a year.

They worked hard to cut down the bamboo trees to make poles, then cut, measured, and tied the poles together, mixing concrete on the ground and carrying concrete in buckets to make the structure.

Pastor Maykol and Janeth and their 4 children are pastors from Peru who felt the call to go to Ecuador and pastor a church starting with 200 children on the Sierra Centro District.  They have been pastoring for 8 years and have 150 people in the Cumandá church.  Before the pandemic, they were ministering to 375 children twice a week. Now they provide food packages which has the value of $11 monthly for the children's families.

In addition to the mother church and the new church plant, Pastor Maykol and his church have another mission of 15 people in Recinto de San Francisco which they also provide food for.

Pastor Maykol always has a smile and says he works for God with love in his heart. Please keep Pastor Maykol, his family, and the churches in your prayers as they continue to build the church.
