Merry Christmas from the Rich Family

December 2016

 Dear Family and Friends,

 We would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas! It has been a year blessed with the Lord’s presence in our lives through our many different activities. “…And placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7. Despite being busy, we want to make sure that we have room for Jesus in our lives.

 One of our great joys this year has been the many pictures and videos of our two grandsons, Charles and Brooks. In April Carolyn was able to return for a one week visit. So, she missed our 7.8 earthquake in Ecuador. The devastation was astounding and the Church took a leading role in various relief efforts that continue today.

 In July, we participated in the Global Compassion Conference at Olivet Nazarene University. Our son, Bryan, produced the event. We were also able to swing by KC and see our grandsons.

 In September, we finished our travel restrictions because of a visa change in Ecuador. We celebrated by attending the Cali annual Church Convention. On Sunday, the church held two services instead of the usual six. A tent to seat 8000 was set up on the new 22-acre property. Both services overflowed the tent for a Sunday attendance over 18,000.

 In October, Dwight traveled to Argentina for an all South American District Superintendent Retreat and a pastor’s retreat of those involved in our new pilot strategy. Then he went over to Brazil for the South American Youth Congress.

 At the end of October, we came back to the USA for a short furlough. We spent our first Thanksgiving in the States and with family since 1993. We will spend Christmas and New Years with family as well.

 We will take our short furlough in 2017 from May 3 to June 14. If anyone is interested in having us in your church, you may write us directly. We will stay for General Assembly where Dwight will be the missionary delegate for South America.

 May everyone make room in your hearts for Jesus as we close out 2016 and begin 2017.
