Baby Halston is Home!!!

Praise the Lord, Baby Halston is Home!

Baby Halston was released from the hospital with her parents to go home to her brother.  She has been in and out of the hospital since the middle of Dec with kidney problems, high blood pressure, and low hemoglobin count which led the doctors to diagnose her with atypical HUS (aHUS) an extremely rare and serious disease. There are only about 2 in 1 million people with this disease in the US and they had never seen this in a baby.  Last week, the one medicine that is approved in the US, finally started working after being transferred to the ICU for several days.  This week she was transferred out of ICU and continued getting better so yesterday they put in a central port to continue the medical treatments which she will need and dismissed her to go home. This has been hard on the whole family and the family is more than grateful for your prayers. Let's continue to lift them and Halston up and that her body will keep accepting the medical treatments and that she will be restored to health. Baby Halston's parents are Bryan and Jen Rich, her big brother is Brooks, and her grandparents are Dwight and Carolyn Rich former missionaries to Ecuador.  Her Aunt and Uncle are Aaron and Stephanie Phelps who have 2 boys.
