Our Story
Harrison was a member of the Ecuadorian military for almost six years and came to know Christ during his military career.  Shortly after coming to know the Lord he received his call to pastoral ministry and because of that he decided to resign from the military so that he could study at the South American Nazarene Theological Seminary, STNS in Quito.
He finished his first theological degree in 2009.  That same year he started to serve in the local church in Carcelén and also starting working with Work and Witness, and did so until 2014.  In August of 2014 he had the opportunity to serve as the administrator of the Nazarene Seminary STNS, a ministry that he served in for four years.  In 2018 he finished his Bachelor’s degree in Theology at STNS.  In April of 2019, he accepted the call to again be part of Work and Witness in Ecuador.
Harrison developed his pastoral ministry in the Church of the Nazarene in Carcelén from 2009 until the present.  During his eleven years of local service, he took on many roles.  He was involved in the worship team for six years.  He was the youth pastor for five years and Assistant pastor for four years.  Harrison is currently in the Ordination process.
Jen graduated from Messiah College in 2001 with a degree in Music Education.  She never thought that God would call her to be a missionary, but after a work and witness trip to Venezuela in 2003, she knew God had other plans for her life.  God confirmed that call when she participated in another work and witness trip to Chiclayo, Peru in December of 2005.  In June of 2006, she started her ministry as a volunteer missionary in Venezuela.  She served in this country until November of 2007.
While she was in Venezuela, she realized she needed to learn Spanish.  So, in January of 2008 God opened doors so that she could move to Quito and learn Spanish at the Nazarene International Language Institute, NILI, a ministry that started that same year in the South American Nazarene Theological Seminary, STNS.
After a year of Spanish study and serving with Work and Witness in Ecuador, Jen was not sure about what God wanted with her life, so she returned home to Pennsylvania to look for opportunities.
In 2009 she traveled to Guatemala to help a local pastor and his church for two months.  While she was serving in this country God confirmed that she should return to Ecuador.  When Jen returned to Ecuador, she received the invitation to work with NILI as the ministry coordinator and a little while later she started to serve as the Directors assistant, a role that she would fulfill for almost 11 years.
Harrison and Jen met in 2008 in STNS in Quito and in July of 2011 they were married.  In 2015 the Lord blessed them with their first child, Lizbeth.  Together they have served in the Church of the Nazarene in Carcelén since 2009 and have developed a transcultural ministry serving in the local church, in NILI, in Work and Witness and in STNS.
In March of 2019, they received an invitation from the General Church to go to Peru as Work and Witness Coordinators.  After a time with much prayer they decided to accept this new challenge.  In January of 2020, they will move to Chiclayo, Peru to serve for two years in this ministry.  God has been faithful in their lives and they are very excited to continue serving the Lord!
