He is Risen!

A Living Church- A Message From the FSC-Field Strategy Coordinator

First of all, we would like to give thanks to all the Nazarenes that are praying for Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela.  Especially for Ecuador, we are truly living in difficult moments.  The Ecuadorian Government communicated on April 8 that we have 4,450 positive confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus and 242 deaths.

Second, out of all the Nazarene Districts of the NAF, the one that is suffering most is the Ecuador Coast District. It is located primarily in the Guayas Province and especially in the city of Guayaquil. We want to tell you that the Nazarene Church is living.  We are working hard to lessen the suffering of the brothers and sisters in this district.

We are working in areas where the Nazarene family's resources are minimal and some are sick.

The Nazarene pastor in the town of Milagro Nazarene church reported to us they are trying to get resources together to make bags of food

In the Chorillo Nazarene Church, there are people that are sick and the church is attending to their needs.

The Manta Church reports that they are helping out several families with bags of food.

The church family of the Mapasingue church informed us that there are two medical people from their congregation who may have the COVID-19; and two others who are recuperating.  The pastor is working to pass out food bags, medicine and providing psychological and spiritual assistance.  He has a slight case of bronchitis, but his symptoms are improving every day.

Finally, we know there is much fake news that is being publicized via the internet which causes panic in people.  The truth is, we believe that God is in control of everything.

The church is under quarantine, and thanks to God the church services are being transmitted via Facebook live, and by other online tools. Today we are like Abraham who, "Believed in hope against all hope."  We have hope that we will get through this situation with renewed faith.

The prayers of everyone are important and that we will pass through this phase with increased faith.  Thanks for your support during this moment.
